2010. Phone rings and a man asks me to follow a non professional football team during some matches. I had little experience with sport photography and had no clue about football, but I accepted straight and a few days later I was on a bus with this men, heading south towards La Spezia, Italy.
This is the result of 6 months on battlefields with them, such an experience! It’s a wonderful sport, full of mud, sweat and passion, and strategy, violence, respect.
Later that year, the first picture from this series, the one with n.75 reaching the field from the locker room, has been awarded 1st prize at “Uno scatto per lo sport”
contest by La Stampa and CUS Torino.
